Our Workshops
The Bath Greenhouse offers a carefully curated range of practical and professional educational workshops for people of all abilities and backgrounds who are interested in learning how to grow, harvest and arrange cut flowers.
Maria leads small group classes, private groups, 1:1 tuition and corporate events. She has worked across the globe throughout her career in various fields of education and development and brings a wealth of teaching experience, passion and knowledge to her workshops.

SOMERSET STUDIO
Unless stated otherwise, spring and summer classes are held at The Bath Greenhouse studio and cutting gardens, located near the historic city of Bath, Somerset. Beautifully maintained gardens provide stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Regular train services connect to the city of Bath, which is well supported by local bus services and taxis. If required, we may be able to offer accommodation at our vintage style holiday let or recommend other local accommodation. Please contact us to discuss your transport or accommodation needs.

OUR CUTTING GARDENS
Over the past decade we have developed five purpose built cutting gardens and a wild flower meadow. Our growing season is April to October and the majority of the fresh flowers that we use in our classes we grow on site. In addition to providing beautifully conditioned flowers for our workshops, students will have the opportunity to explore the cutting gardens and harvest additional flowers to personalise their work.

HAND-TIED BOUQUET WORKSHOP
This relaxed and informative workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to arrange flowers and create a lovely hand-tied bouquet. The bouquet is yours to enjoy at home or gift to a friend.

FLOWER ARRANGING WORKSHOP
Learn how to select, condition and arrange beautiful, seasonal flowers and foliage in a simple vessel using the grid technique. You will be introduced to the key principles of floral design, the best types of flowers and foliage to use, and how to arrange them to produce your own lovely, relaxed, garden style arrangement.

GROW YOUR OWN CUT FLOWER PATCHWORKSHOP
A one day class designed for beginners and more experienced gardeners. We grow a wide selection of flowers and foliage at The Bath Greenhouse and use our established cutting gardens to show you how you can design and develop a cut flower patch or small cut flower garden of your own to produce beautiful, seasonal, home-grown blooms.

IKEBANA (JAPANESE FLOWER ARRANGING) WORKSHOP
Learn the basic steps in Ikebana and how to create an elegant and restrained flower arrangement using a kenzan and a shallow container. The workshop will cover the basic tools required for this relaxing and creative art form, the best types of flowers and foliage to use for an Ikebana flower arrangement, how to cut and condition the stems, where to position the flowers and foliage, and how to fix them in their container.

Dried Wreath Workshop
Natural dried flowers are a thing of beauty and what better way is there to display them than in a long lasting floral wreath? Join us and learn how to work with dried flower stems and make the perfect wall hanging for your home.
The workshop price includes flowers, materials, light refreshments and for on-site workshops, a guided tour of our cutting gardens.
Workshops run on-demand throughout the year.

HAND-TIED DRIED FLOWER BOUQUET WORKSHOP
This relaxed and informative workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to arrange flowers and make a beautiful hand–tied, gift wrapped bouquet using a variety of natural dried flowers and foliage.
The session starts with an introduction to the workshop materials including how the flowers and foliage have been grown, harvested and preserved. You will be introduced to the key principles of floral design and how they apply to choosing and arranging your flowers, the art of creating a spiral effect with the stems, and finally how to gift wrap your bouquet.
You will leave this workshop with a beautiful hand-tied, dried flower bouquet to enjoy at home or gift to a friend. The price includes a lovely selection of natural dried flowers and foliage, workshop materials and light refreshments.

HEN PARTIES - FLOWER CROWN WORKSHOP
If you are looking for a creative hen party activity near the beautiful city of Bath - then look no further! We offer a relaxed, fun-filled three hour experience for brides-to-be and their party.
As well as showing you how to make a magical flower crown using flowers picked from our own cutting gardens, you will have the opportunity to tour the gardens and learn about the beautiful blooms that we grow here - a perfect way to start a hen party!
In addition to running events from our own premises we are very happy to travel to other venues within a ten mile radius of Bath.
The workshop price includes flowers, materials and, for on-site events, a guided tour of our gardens.

CHRISTMAS Wreath Workshop
Join one of our festive workshops and inspire your creativity. Working with seasonal flowers and foliage we will show you how to create a beautiful Christmas wreath from scratch. No previous experience is necessary, we will guide you through each step of the process.

Bespoke Tuition
We have been growing British cut flowers for over a decade. As you can imagine, we have learnt a lot on our journey and love to pass on that knowledge and experience to others through one to one or small group learning. Whether you are thinking about starting a cut flower garden from scratch, want to develop your plant cultivation knowledge, or enhance your general floristry skills, we are here to help.
